I spend a great deal of time prior to each shoot preparing and planning, which is such a great opportunity for me to be creative and create unique images of each of my little models – not only with setups, but also creating beautiful fresh flower arrangements (you may remember from an earlier blog that I previously owned a chain of florists, so it really is great to blend these two passions of mine!)
So… back to a week in the studio with me! On the Monday, I met gorgeous Henry, 10 days new, and an absolute super sleeper – brought along by his lovely parents Laura and Josh for his newborn session. Prior to the session, Laura had let us know her preferred colour palette – baby blue, white and grey.
In every gallery, I will include some close up images for the family to view. I love the details of Henry’s gorgeous features in this image, wearing one of our most popular caps – I just love his scrummy little face!
On the Tuesday, I was so happy to welcome back to the studio the beautiful Orla and her lovely mummy Jennie. Orla visited us last year for a newborn session, and now that she is sitting unaided, it was time for her sitter session! Jennie had decided to book one of our Deluxe sessions, which incorporates fresh flowers into the set up. Orla is such a pretty and delicate little girl that she perfectly suited this girlie look. Just look at those eyes!
Each sitter session involves several outfit and backdrop changes to offer our families a wide assortment of images to choose from, when they receive their online gallery (fully password protected and secure). What a pleasure to welcome Orla back – doesn’t she suit this dusky pink tutu?
Wednesday was newborn time again! Zoe visited me at almost five weeks new after being born prematurely and was just under 8lbs when we met. What a strong little girl, and such a blessing to her parents. As my families know, I have a very large and ever growing collection of outfits, props and wraps sourced from all over the world, and I was so excited to use this new set for the first time, which was perfect for mum Jennie who loves florals.
We always encourage families to bring any sentimental or special items they would like to be included in the photoshoot, and Jennie brought a beautiful blanket hand knitted by Zoe’s proud grandmother. Zoe is a rainbow baby, and I think this image below with her blanket and our little rainbow bear really captures how special Zoe is to her family – thank you for letting me share and capture such a special time with your family, Jennie.
On Thursday, it was time for another baby girl – little Lana, who was such a chilled out dream! It was a pleasure to meet such a lovely family – Karl and Nikki were so relaxed and happy to let us pose Lana. We were also delighted to meet big brother Leighton, who took his new job very seriously! We love capturing sibling and family shots as part of the session.
Lastly – Friday – well, we all need cake on a Friday don’t we? Introducing Hunter, our smiley and happy birthday boy! We have been so lucky to photograph Hunter as a newborn, as a sitter, and now for his Cake Smash! One of my greatest pleasures is that I get to see the babies grow, and continue to build a relationship with the lovely parents. By the time we reach the Cake Smash, we are old friends!
We worked closely with Hunter’s mum, Maxine, who requested a dinosaur theme to tie in with Hunter’s birthday bash. Just look at this cutie! I don’t think he could really believe the cake was all for him!
Phew – what a week! Thank you so much, as always, to these wonderful families for choosing Lyn Braund Photography. I fully understand that having your child professionally photographed is an investment – which is why I work so hard to ensure that I offer my families as much as I can within the session.
If you have any questions or would like to book a session, please do not hesitate to contact me either via Facebook, Instagram, or email
Please do also take the time to read through reviews that my wonderful families have taken the time to leave for me – their words hopefully say it all!
