I understand that it is a big decision to choose a photographer to capture these first precious moments, and I strive to make the experience as calm and relaxing for you as possible. As a mother to four children, I understand how quickly time passes, and how important it is to capture these precious moments.
I am sure that you will have lots of questions before you make the commitment of booking your shoot, so I have answered the questions that I hear most from my clients below. Please do contact me if there is anything else that you are unsure of, or would like to ask, before making your booking.
Where are you based?
My spacious home studio is based just outside of Bishops Waltham village in Hampshire. The studio is a large space with a wonderful, relaxing, cosy sofa. We have installed under floor heating so that babies and children always remain warm and cosy.
You may wish to wear layers yourself, as the room can get fairly toasty!
I also plan many location shots across Southern Hampshire for our families – including bluebell meadows, lavender fields, forest and beach shots. Children love location shoots as it allows them to relax and play. It is perfect for mini fairies discovering fairy doors in tree trunks, or little explorers having a stomp in the mud! Please do contact me if you would like something a little different and we can discuss which location may be most suitable for you (please note: locations further than 10 miles from the studio do incur a small additional charge to cover travel costs). I’m also more than happy to work in our large garden which works brilliantly for outdoor sessions.
How & when do I book my session?
Please feel free to contact us via Email (firstname.lastname@example.org), Facebook or the Lyn Braund Photography website to discuss your requirements, and place your booking.
As we know, babies do not work to the same timetable as we do, and can often arrive unexpectedly! For Newborn sessions, many parents place their booking following their 20-week scan, when they have their due date confirmed. At this time, we’re able to book a provisional date 7-14 days after Baby’s arrival. Although it’s always best to book your session in advance, we do have plenty of parents spontaneously booking with us once their baby has arrived too so there’s plenty of flexibility – as a mother of four, I have been there and understand how busy this special time can be!
How do I secure my booking?
We kindly ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit at time of booking to secure your chosen date. The outstanding balance is due two weeks prior to you session date.
Do you include props, outfits & accessories?
I have sourced props, backdrops, accessories and outfits from around the world to ensure that I am able to offer clients a variety of different themes and colours to enhance their images. From claw-toed mini baths from Sydney to handmade newborn headbands from California as well as bespoke pieces from local suppliers – I have a huge range for you to choose from to achieve the look you are looking for.
What should I bring with me?
Once your session is booked and secured, we will send a Welcome Pack helping you to be fully prepared for your session. If bringing Baby, we suggest packing plenty of milk/juice/snacks, and any favourite toys/blankets, to help sustain Baby throughout the session and make them as comfortable as possible. If attending a Maternity or Family Portrait shoot, we have a whole host of nibbles and refreshments to keep you going!
We have some ideas of what we’re looking for, is that ok with you?
Absolutely! We love to hear ideas from parents and incorporate any special items into the shoot to make them even more personal and special. This could be a treasured teddy, an item of uniform, or Daddy’s oversized work boots! Please do let us know any ideas you have so that we can work together to create a truly bespoke image.
What happens after my session?
As soon as your session has wrapped, we will start the editing process. In a little over a week, we will email over the login details to access a secure gallery on our website for you to view the images.
Are you trained & insured?
Safety is extremely important, especially when working with Newborn babies and young children. I am certified in Newborn Baby Posing, which encompasses the art of safely handling babies to move them into specific, safe poses. Additionally, I am a member of BANPAS, the only UK association of leading baby and newborn photographers. I endeavour to partake in workshops and seminars to ensure I have an understanding of the most up-to-date methods of working with babies, young children, adults and animals when photographing.
Please feel free to ask for more information regarding my training, and I urge you to do so with any other photographers you may be considering.
